The seventh annual Public Radio Music Day will be commemorated on October 28, 2026. In the wake of massive funding cuts to public media, this year's celebration is more important than ever.

This year’s theme reflects how many Americans feel about their local public radio music stations: Sounds Like Home. On top of elevating community voices, public music stations bolster local musicians and music economies, bring their communities together through live events and digital spaces, and preserve regional history and culture. Simply put, local public music stations sound like home – wherever that may be.
